(refresh page to see newest data)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Carbon Dioxide (CO<code><sub>2<\/sub><\/code>):<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Measured in parts per million (PPM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can expect about 400-450 PPM outdoors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anything above 1000 PPM for extended periods may lead to drowsiness and loss of cognitive abilities (as in you get mentally slower)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Higher levels of CO<code><sub>2<\/sub><\/code> may also indicate that other pollutants (harder to measure) are also present in higher concentrations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>See these links for more details :\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2014-08\/documents\/base_3c2o2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/2014-08\/documents\/base_3c2o2.pdf<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0160412018312807\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0160412018312807<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC10943933\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC10943933\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Particulates:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We are measuring PM2.5 which in our case is the weight (micrograms) of particles less than 2.5 microns per cubic meter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These small particles (from diesel, smoke, etc) are particularly bad for us because they make their way into our lungs and are hard to expel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kitchen activity (frying, searing, burning fuel) are also big contributors to indoor particulates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have low levels of particulates, you&#8217;re probably cleaning the air of aerosols. Aerosols are the primary vector for air borne viruses (think influenza, colds, covid) <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC8721651\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC8721651\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How we fixed our particulate problems \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MERV13 filters on all outside air coming into ERVs and HRVs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MERV13 filters on all air handlers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CR style filter boxes situated throughout the building <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>HEPA filtration units <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure that you have good kitchen exhaust to reduce particulates from cooking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What can you do ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We stock and sell many brands of ERVs, HRVs: <a href=\"https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/HRVs-and-ERVs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/HRVs-and-ERVs<\/a>  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CR boxes &#8211; a great and inexpensive filtration concept: <a href=\"https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Indoor-Air-Quality\/Inline-Filter-Boxes\/HVACQuick-CRFB-Box\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Indoor-Air-Quality\/Inline-Filter-Boxes\/HVACQuick-CRFB-Box<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We stock many brands, as well as manufacturing our own line of filter boxes <a href=\"https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Air-Filters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Air-Filters<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Exhausting kitchen produced particulates: <a href=\"https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Kitchen-Exhaust\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/hvacquick.com\/products\/residential\/Kitchen-Exhaust<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feel free to call us to discuss and let us share our experience at 541.646.9340<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Footnote on ERVs and HRVs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The smart way to fix CO<code><sub>2<\/sub><\/code> problems is to use Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs) or Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can also just open a window, but this will lead to loss of conditioned air <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ERVs and HRVs minimize loss of conditioned air by recovering the heat or cool, while still bringing in fresh and filtered air<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note on our measurement<\/strong>s<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We measure particulates and carbon dioxide levels (inside and outdoors). A thorough analysis of air would include volatile organics (VOC&#8217;s) and other pollutants, which is beyond the scope of our measurements.
