A: The depth of the actual grille itself is just under 1 inch...Further, there is a 1 inch perimeter all the way around beyond the actual size ordered to cover the edge of the hole. | #8 | Q: Hello - we have a central heating system... we need a new grille for the floor opening where the warm air is blown into the house. The opening is 24 3/8 x 36 3/8. Can you confirm if the 24 x 36 154R series will have enough overlap to work in this hole and is sturdy enough that it can be walked on?
