#4 Q:   Can the VTX 400 be used to exhaust fumes from a small paint booth...is it sparkless and or brushless?

#5 Q:   Using 6 to 8 duct adapters if you install a VTX 8 to a 6 duct system can it handle the flow resistance?
A:   Absolutely. Will not perform to listed specification, but will provide plenty of air. Will not harm the fan at all either.

#8 Q:   1. What do I need to control the speed of the fan? Is that something you can supply?2. Do I need to install a pressure switch to turn the fan off when the furnace is not running or can I just let the fan continue to run?
A:   You want to switch the fan on/off either through a relay wired to the furnace fan or a pressure switch. You can use WC 15 speed controller to control the speed: http://www.hvacquick.com/products/residential/AirFlow-Boosting/Exhaust-Fan-Controls/Fantech-Speed-and-Fan-Controls

#12 Q:   Would vtx1000 work with a 12 inch duct ? How many cubic ft per minute would deliver with a 12 inch duct as compared with a 10 inch duct?
A:   Yes, you can use 12 inch duct. You would get closer to the nominal (max) CFM of the fan since the 12 inch duct has less restriction than 10 inch duct.

#13 Q:   What is the temp rating for this? And can it handle grease and steam well?
A:   140 F is the air temp rating. That is more than sufficient for most kitchen applications since you are blending steamy and clean air.

#14 Q:   Could you give me a decibel rating for the 6 fan? Also, can these be controlled with a dimmer type switch for variable speed?
A:   There is no hard data on sound for inline fans as they vary greatly on how they are installed...Mid 60s in dBA would be a good guess. You may run it on a speed control which will help quiet it down as well.

A:   Yes they can...
